A bit about me

I am a 5th year medical student and yoga teacher who is passionate about a holistic approach to health. Medicine has taught me about the complexity and intricacy of the body, whilst practicing yoga for almost ten years has given me an understanding of the connection between the body and the mind.

Driven by curiosity for the physiological changes that arise from relaxation techniques (such as activation of the parasympathetic nervous system to promote a state of ‘rest and digest’), I integrate meditation, breathwork and mindfulness with physical movement.

My personal cancer journey and going on to teach yoga to cancer patients has allowed me to develop a particular interest in patient-centred, individualised care. This has given me an expertise for recovering from illness beyond medical treatment, hoping to contribute to a more compassionate and holistic approach to healthcare, where evidence-based medicine and practices that support wellbeing can complement one another.

Whether it’s an existing or previous illness, or simply an intention to channel relaxation and connection to the body, I teach and deliver techniques to empower people to take control of their own health. Ultimately, I hope to build a career that bridges modern medicine with traditional practices, through an individualised and all-encompassing approach to cultivate wellbeing.
