Why Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an evidence-based Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) technique that uses fine needles in specific points of the body to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation and target stress.
In TCM, acupuncture works by releasing stagnant energy, known as ‘chi’. Similarly, yoga recognises energy flow through the body as ‘prana’. Integrating both practices can empower you to establish a mind-body connection in order to promote healing.
Growing research supports the modern medicine theory that acupuncture targets the pain pathway and initiates descending inhibition by releasing endogenous opioids for symptom relief.
